fun fact i knew this girl from camp who had a british accent but she wasn’t from england and then one day i went to her house and her parents didn’t have a british accent either so i asked her where she got it from because i was really confused and she told me her parents faked it until she was 7 because they wanted a child with a british accent
A dick with health care
she was! she looked surprised for half a second and then was like “oh! well congratulations!” and I think she didn’t know how else to let me know she accepted me because I came out to her really out of the blue and put her on the spot but she hugged me and stuff and when I said i might bring a girl as my date to her wedding she was like “of course! bring whoever makes you happy” and I just about burst :))
Thank you babe ilysm. This was my first in-person coming out and I just about tossed my cookies trying to bring it up but i feel so free right now and I’m just floating here like some sort of woodland fairy it’s awesome.

TUMBLR PROF ANNOUNCEMENT: If you are trans or nonbinary and you are in the same situation as the student above, email your professors before class starts. I understand that it might be uncomfortable, but generally professors are absolutely happy to accommodate you. I know I always will be!
If your professor does not respond positively, contact the Dean or the campus LGBT+ resource center with a copy of the email and show them that you are concerned about gender discrimination in the classroom.
Also this is a link to the template I used to write this email, and I’ve seen another similar template going around, and this was extremely helpful.
This is important.
